He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Edward Tolbert and Virginia Elizabeth Conley Tolbert; his brother Richard Tolbert; and his brother-in-law Fred Burroughs. He is survived by: his caregiver Elizabeth Tolbert; his stepsons, David Nixon (Tina) of Hermitage, TN and Nick Nixon (Alicia) of Wimauma, FL; his brother Larry Tolbert (Patty) of Ridgeway, VA; his sister-in-law Janet Tolbert of Charlotte, NC; and his close friend Ed Gpa. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations of sympathy be made in Ed's honor to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Canines for Warriors.
