She was predeceased by: her daughter Carla Hughes; her parents, Hubert Tankersley and Ressie Tankersley; her siblings, Kenneth Lee Tankersley, Charles Thomas Tankersley, Newton Ferris Tankersley (Butch), Carroll Tankersley, Deloy Tankersley, Rose Marie Tankersley, Glenda Faye Tankersley and Linda Burchard; and her brother-in-law James Steel.
She is survived by: her former husband Tommy Hughes Sr.; her siblings, Sheila Tankersley Steel, Leila Simpson and Larry Tankersley; and her grandchildren, Tina, Kevin Greenwood, Melissa Kretzer, James J. Hughes, Tommy Hughes Sr., Sheila Tankersley Steel, Stacy, Eley Steel, Christian Hyatt, Lisa, Rocky Morrison, Jason Tankersley and Maylee Morrison. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 21 great -grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
