He is survived by: his children, Barbara Ann Swafford, Sammy Swafford (Kristina), Rachael Swafford, Odetta Thompson and Wendy; and his siblings, Rachael Shockley (Luther), Christine Washington, Mary Jo Williams and James Robert Swafford. He is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren, along with many loving nieces and nephews.
His work was more than just a job—it was a contribution to the lives of countless students and staff who knew him as a steady and friendly figure in the halls.
