He was predeceased by: his parents, Abel Smith (Smith) and Frances Underwood Smith; his brother James "Jim" Smith; his daughter Lisa Smith; and his foster daughter Kathy Meredith.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Smith; his son Jeff Smith (Bethany); his grandchildren, Nicole Perkins (Dustin) and Brooke Smith; and his great grandchildren, Linley, Laney Perkins, Henley and Harrison Smith.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home, Inc. (1670 Market St, Dayton, TN 37321-1130). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
