She was predeceased by: her parents, Benjamin Sabedra and Lucy Haney Sabedra; her husband Ernest William "Ernie" Barton Sr.; her sons, Zachary Barton and Ernie Barton Jr.; her brothers, Benjamin Sabedra, Jr., Clinton Sabedra, Robert Sabedra, Ralph Sabedra and Tommy Sabedra; and her brother-in-law Zack Hooper.
She is survived by: her sisters, Barbara Castillo and Irene Hooper; her niece Tonia Hooper Moore (Michael Moore, Sr); her great-nieces and great-nephews, Michael Moore, Jr., Larissa Hooper, Ryan Hooper, Brian Sabedra and Alan Sabedra; Tanja Hutton. She is also survived by several other nieces, nephews, great nephews and great nieces.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Ziegler Funeral Home (521 W Madison Ave, Athens, TN 37303-3490). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 4:30 PM at the New Bethel Baptist Cemetery (296 Co Rd 791, Etowah, TN 37331).
