We bid farewell to Carolyn M. Hood of Decherd, Tennessee, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on December 11, 2025 at the age of 94. Carolyn touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Hix and Hattie Mae Hix; her brothers, Maurice Hix and Doyle Lynn Hix; her daughter-in-law Carol Hood; and her grandson Ross Hood.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Hood (Vicky), David Hood (Beverly), Elyssa Clayton (Paul) and Chris Hood; her grandchildren, Matthew Hood, Joselyn Hood, Laura Poland, Gene Poland, Valerie Leonard, Rob Leonard, Gabrielle Richey, Justin Richey, Joey Hood, Grace Clayton, James Clayton and McKayla Clayton; and her sister-in-law Sue Hix. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Moore-Cortner Funeral Home (300 1st Ave NW, Winchester, TN 37398). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
