He was predeceased by: his parents, James Carson and Delia Boyd (Dungan); his wife Pauline Boyd; and his siblings, Hubert Boyd, Fred Boyd, Glen Boyd, Clyde Boyd, Gladys Anderson and Lavene Finney.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Boyd and Tammie Gilliam (Michael); his grandchildren, Holly Luechauer (Nathan), Justin Gilliam (Amanda) and Kasey Phillips (Aaron); and his great grandchildren, Eli, Lucy, Molly, Olivia and Cooper. He is also survived by many nieces, and nephews.
