He is survived by: his children, Daniel Barton Matthews (Vickie) of Decherd, Dusty Robinson (Mark) of Winchester and Dasha Wiser (Wendell) of Alto; and his siblings, David Matthews of Kentucky, Mike Matthews of Alabama, Gilbert Matthews (Pam) of Alabama, Gaynelle Holliday of Winchester, Junia Gipson of Winchester and Jana Stevens (Arty) of Alabama. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Mount Garner Cemetery (1303 W Main St, Decherd, TN 37324).
