John Patrick wrote a sympathy message

“A life cut way too short. What a treasured memory David will be, that is once I come to grips of his passing. In my interactions with David, he always appeared to be your best fan. I know it was not just me, because I witnessed this same talent with others he met. What a gift he had and shared. What a humanitarian. What a life of service. My heart aches for Martha, the family, and his many friends. Thanks, David, for all you gave. In gratitude, John Patrick and Rebecca Selove”
