He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Gilbert and Essie Vanleer Gilbert; and his sisters, Bobbie Gilbert Beasly, Beverly Gilbert Williams (Billy) of Charlotte, Tennessee. and Rita Gilbert.
He is survived by: his children, Sidonia Aguilera (Marco) of Richmond, Jaracee Gilbert of Hayward and Anthony Gilbert of Highlands Ranch; his grandchildren, Benicio, Marco Aguilera of Richmond, Kwazaye and Jaiden Gilbert of Hayward, California.; his sisters, Della Bryant of Lake Spivey, Georgia, Serina Gilbert of Charlotte and Linda Watson of LaPlata, Maryland.; and his friends, Eric Johnson of Arcata, Jack and Suzanne Sumani of Eureka. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Vanleer Cemetery.
