He was predeceased by: his parents, Emery Gilbert Hood and Reba Bateman Hood; his son Eric Smith; his sister Judy Brown; and his brother-in-law Vance Stout.
He is survived by: his children, Thomas Hood (Maleah), Ethan Smith and Melissa Nesmith (Cody); the mother of his children Angela Smith; his siblings, David Hood, Charlie Hood, Lisa Jones (Jeremiah) and Tina Stout; his grandchildren, Kalin Durard, Tes Smith, Landon Smith, Zachary Smith, Sebastien Smith and Emberly Smith; and his nieces and nephews, Jessi Hood (Michael), Nathan Brown (Cara), Shawn Brown (Becky), Stacy Hood, Josh Hood (Kayla), Ben Stout, Austin Hunter, Delaney Stout, Angel Stout (Quon) and Aryan Jones (Emma).
