He is survived by: his children, Velma Grace Hicks Smith, Rebecca Lee Hicks Vincent (Gary), Grover Thomas Hicks, Jr. (Kathy Anderson) and Steven Eric Hicks (Dorothy Walker); his grandchildren, David Mark Smith (Por), Susan Victoria Smith, Joel Edward Smith (Jennifer), Tanya Michelle Vincent Landrum (Michael), Mandy Christine Vincent Tate (Jonathan), Brianna Lee Vincent Allman (Chaz), Shawn Michael Thomas Vincent (Alex), Christie Lynn Hicks Broome (Michael), Laurie Nicole Hicks Huff (Andrew), Tracie Leighanne Hicks Collier (Brandon), Valerie Samantha Hicks Matthews (Justin), Meredith Anne Hicks and Elijah Thomas Hicks; his great grandchildren, Victoria Grace Pavaritsa Smith, Alvin Mark Ittikorn Smith, Joel Michael David Smith, Jacob Ryan Edward Smith, Justin Thomas Smith, Brandon Tyler Landrum, Justin Cade Landrum, Keeley Michelle Landrum, Kaleb Michael Landrum, Fisher Knox Landrum, Paisley Sky Landrum, Tennley Summer Landrum, Gabriel Deacon Tate, Abigail Grace Tate, Judah Alexander Allman, Josie Lee Allman, Janie Noel Allman, Jesse Ann Allman, Ethan Thomas Broome, Kayla Raegan Broome, Mackenzie Lynn Broome, Gabrielle Nicole Huff, Adelynn Rochelle Huff, Gavin Andrew Huff, Turner Kade Collier, Grayson Nash Collier, McKinley Ray Matthews, Ryker Davis Matthews and Leighton Charolette Matthews; and his siblings, Betty Crippen, Michael Bruce Hicks, Cathy Hicks Jones (Timothy) and Barbara Hicks Johnson (Chris). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many, many dear friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 4th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, September 5th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Sellars Funeral Home (2229 N Mt Juliet Rd, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 5th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
