He was predeceased by : his parents, William Norwood and Della Batey. He is survived by : his sister Pat Johnson; his children, Nicole McGee (Sam) and Cody Batey (Sherry); his grandsons, Austin, Colton McGee and Eli Thomas; his niece Kelli Sparks (Greg); and his nephew Tony Johnson.

He regularly donated to causes and charities that he believed in.
