With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Carl W. Cottrell of Dover, Tennessee, who passed away on April 6, 2026 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley Cottrell and Pearl Cottrell; his siblings, Charles Cottrell, Carolyn Hughes Downs and Gladys Logan; and his son-in-law Michael Earheart.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Newberry Cottrell; his children, Carla Parker (Jamie), Kim Earheart and Melissa Hamm Delano (Jarrett); his grandchildren, Devin Earheart (Sabrina), Torey Young (Mark), Tabitha Jones (Josten), Dylan Earheart, Ryan Parker, Carson and Bryant Cox; his great grandchildren, Grace, Seth Earheart, Blakeley, Kali, Easton Young, Hudson and Siena Jones; and his siblings, Louise Spurgeon, Carter Cottrell (Connie), Eddie Cottrell (Jane), Anne Elliott (Barry), Margie Smith and Wanda Taylor (Ronnie). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
