He was predeceased by: his parents, Ervin Hays and Frances McArtor Hays. He is survived by: his wife Eva Linda Myers Hays. He is also survived by 4 sons and 5 daughters; 26 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
