He was predeceased by: his wife Donna Sue Lawson. He is survived by: his parents, Toy Lawson and Faye Johnson Lawson of Liberty; his stepdaughter Teresa Murphy (Brad) of Sparta; and his siblings, Gary Lane Lawson of Liberty, Wanda Duggin of Dibrell, Patsy Whitaker of Smithville and Rachel Bandy (Phillip) of Dowelltown. He is also survived by 5 step-grandchildren and 7 step great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the DeKalb Funeral Chapel (863 S Congress Blvd, Smithville, TN 37166). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at the Keith Cemetery.
