He was predeceased by : his parents, Carl Vance and Willene Vance; his son Alex Vance; his brother Gayewon Vance; his parents-in-law, Robert and Lenora Lawson; and his siblings-in-law, Loyd and Bobbie Wilson.

He is survived by : his wife Wanda Vance of Doyle, TN; his daughter Altia Vance (Daniel) of Petersburg, TN; his brothers, Bill Vance of Spencer, TN and Howard Vance (Sandra) of Doyle, TN; and his sisters-in-law, Barbara Vance and Jewel Guy. He is also survived by Several nieces and nephews.
