He was predeceased by: his wife Mary; his sister Sandra Jarvis; and his grandchildren, Gavin Lawson and Halle Cartwright. He is survived by: his children, Bea, Keith, Jeff (Marcie), Christy and Tracey (David); his grandchildren, Sydney, Ben, Daniel, Abbi, Hannah, Alyssa, Braden, Barrett, Hunter, Dakota, Alec and Collin; his great grandchildren, Marcella, Everest, Charlotte, Beckham, Nolan, Cooper, Lincoln, Rhys, Vance, Otis, Fischer, Cullen and Sunnie; and his brothers, David and Ferris Cartwright. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ewton Funeral Home & Cremation Center (6936 TN-28, Dunlap, TN 37327). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at 1747 Condra Switch Rd, Whitwell, TN 37397.
