She was predeceased by: her husband Dexter Martin Tate of Tate's Super Market; her daughter Donna Cheryl Tate; her parents, Brooks Whitlow and Lettie Whitlow; her siblings, W. B., David Whitlow, Wanda Long and Evelyn Whitlow; her son-in-law Mark McGuire; and her siblings-in-law, Betty Whitlow and John Long.
She is survived by: her children, Valerie McGuire of Mexia, Texas, Angela, Randy Cook of Laurel, Mississippi, Marty and Brandy Tate of Dunlap; her grandchildren, Ashley Cargile (Marty) of Mexia, Texas, Jessica Stroo (Casey) of Laurel, Mississippi, Tyler Cook (Megan) of Laurel, Mississippi, Zachary Cook (Cecily) of Laurel, Mississippi, Jaimie Starnes (Josh), Joshua, Jacob (Alyia), Rebekah, Timothy, Jackson, Anna, David Tate of Dunlap, Jonathan Tate of Withee and Jesse Tate of Andrews, Texas; her great grandchildren, Aaden, Kendall Cargile, Lettie, Tessa Stroo, Julie, Megan Starnes, Henry Cook and Clay Cook; her siblings, Rachel Rhodes (Noah) of Farmington, Missouri and John Whitlow (Regina) of Dunlap; and her sister-in-law Odell Whitlow of Dunlap. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ewton Funeral Home & Cremation Center (6936 TN-28, Dunlap, TN 37327). A funeral service was held on Sunday, May 25th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant Congregational Methodist Church or to the charity of your choice.
