With sadness, we share the passing of Venova Marguerit Cleek in Dunlap, Tennessee. Venova, born on June 19, 1940, passed away on August 23, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Freddie "Jew Babe" Cannon and Agnes Henley Cannon; and her grandmother Lee Cleek. She is survived by: her siblings, Glen, Howard, Horace, Leon, Tony, Pete Cannon and Martha Henley; her husband Charles C. Cleek; her son Randy Cleek; her grandson Shane King; and her great great grandchildren, Collins Cleek and Everly Lynn Ball. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 32 great great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, August 26th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Layne Funeral Home (32871 TN-108, Gruetli-Laager, TN 37365). A funeral service was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 at the Palmer Cemetery.
