He was predeceased by: his parents, J. T. Burns and Flossie Viola Hurst Burns; and his brothers, Ray Hurst and Tom Burns. He is survived by: his children, Misty Oliva (John) of Newbern and Robert Burns of Rutherford; his siblings, Dianne Kelley of Dyersburg, Nita Enochs of Henning, Lyda Bulloch of Ripley, MS and Nathan Burns of Dyersburg; and his granddaughter Madison Burns of Newbern.
