He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther E. Hunt and Mildred Preslar Hunt. He is survived by: his wife Retha Kalberer Hunt of Dyersburg, Tennessee; his children, David Hunt (Tina) of Knox, Indiana, Debra Hunt of Canyon Lake, Sherry Wall of Winamac and Susan Rae Hunt of Dyersburg, Tennessee; his sister Shirley Nadean Faulkner of Trenton; and his grandchildren, David Lee, Oldwen, Rachel, Adam, Brandon and William James. He is also survived by his eight great-grandchildren.
