He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Cecil and Claudette Cecil; his wife Sheila Garner Cecil; and his siblings, Guy Tate, Charlotte Tate and Donna Cecil.
He is survived by: his children, Amanda Agnew (Jerome) of Dyersburg, Tennessee and David Cecil of Juneau, Alaska; his brother Danny Cecil (Helen) of Alamo; and his grandchildren, Avery Cecil Agnew, Rhett Agnew and John Cecil.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Johnson-Williams Funeral Home (239 E Main St, Newbern, TN 38059). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home (239 E Main St, Newbern, TN 38059).
