He was predeceased by: his parents, John F. Shields and Helen Harrison Mayo Shields; his daughter Stephanie Shields; and his brothers, Johnny Shields and Bobby Mayo.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Cortez Shields; his children, Heather Eddington (Chris) of South Fulton, Brandi Barlow (Ian) of Deridder, LA and Wesley Blasingim of Martin; his grandchildren, Kiley Rupert, Khloe, Lexi, Logan Barlow, Emberly Blasingim and Luke Blasingim; his siblings, Jackie Shields of Clinton, KY, Edward Mayo (Barbara) of Hickman, KY, Donnie Sutton of Hickman, KY, Trish Lowery of Benton Harbor, MI and Glenda Edgin of Hickman, KY; and his sister-in-law JoAnn Mayo. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
