It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mattie A. Gilless of Eads, Tennessee, born in Dundee, Mississippi, who passed away on March 20, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, C. W. Aven and Vera Aven. She is survived by: her sister Lorene; her husband George N. Fox; her daughters, Pamela Cherry (David) of Germantown, TN, Georgia Anne Haley (Kevin) of Eads, TN. and Kimberly Slate (Carl) of Collierville, TN; her grandson Michael Cherry of Mphs, TN; and her great grandchildren, Kimberly Forsythe (Jonathan) of Atlanta, GA, Karla Himebook (Peter) of Mphs, TN, Leslianne Newberry (Tyler) of Houston, TX, Hunter Haley of Mphs, Dustin Echols (Haylea) of Mphs, Casey Gardenhire (Trell) of Chattanooga, Carly Slate of Chattanooga, Michelle, Andy, Maggie Himebook, Aaron, Katherine Forsythe, Aevyn, Stone, Banner Newberry, Emerson, Rylin Echols and Max Gardenhire.
Mattie's family graciously requests any memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
