He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Hicks Boyd and Mary Ruth Skinner; his siblings, Roy Lee Boyd, Robert "Buddy" Boyd, George Terrell Boyd and Donna Faye Boyd-Rogers; and his sons, James Garry Boyd Jr. and Ernest Hicks Boyd.
He is survived by: his wife Rebecca "Becky" Boyd; his children, Kristie Lynn Boyd and Nathan Terrell Boyd; and his brother Steve Boyd. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren, his 9 great-grandchildren.
