He is survived by: his wife Pat Crowe Acklen; his children, Tom Acklen Jr. (Lori) of Stafford, VA, Matt Acklen (Jo) of Ringgold, GA, Jeff Acklen (Jenny) of Nicholasville, KY and Jenn Grymes of Chattanooga; his grandchildren, Sarah Saladana (Coby), Christian Acklen, Rebecca Montgomery (Will), Taylor Acklen (Emily), Erin Acklen and Griffin Grymes; and his great grandchildren, Piper, Ethan Saladana, Austin and J. D. Montgomery.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Heritage Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Chattanooga (7454 E Brainerd Rd, Chattanooga, TN 37421). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
