He was predeceased by: his parents, James Austin Goodwin and Evadne Grindstaff Goodwin; his brothers, James Frank Goodwin and Robert Lee Goodwin; and his parents-in-law, Elmer and Elsie Carden.
He is survived by: his wife Frances; his son Austin; his siblings, Jean Hester and John Austin Goodwin; and his sister-in-law Judy Goodwin. He is also survived by nieces and nephews as well as numerous close friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Lynn Valley Baptist Church Building Fund or Samaritan's Purse.
