He was predeceased by: his parents, Gene Mathes and Roma Jean Mathes; his brother John Paul Mathes; and his grandparents, John, Callie Mathes, Luther, Goldie Hall and Paul Tolley.
He is survived by: his brother Greg; his sister-in-law Teresa Mathes; his sister Debbie; his brother-in-law Jimmy Bunton; his nieces and nephews, JP, Leona Mathes, Cody, Andrea Bunton, Callie, Jagger Mathes, Malia, April, Mark Fox, Kristin, Clifton Birchfield, Magnolia, Jeanna, Nathaniel Brewer, Novalee and Stetson; his girlfriend Debbie Buckles; his close friends, Sam and Dave Timbs (family: Alainya Hare, Lois Carver, Virginia Grindstaff); and his family, Dr. Daniel Paul, Dr. Charles Famoyin, Sarah Hammons, Quality of Life Staff, Dr. Wael Shams, Dr. Fawwaz Hamati, Dr. Samardia Missick and Interventional. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
