He was predeceased by: his mother Kitty; and his siblings, David Nelson and Linda "Sis" Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Melissa Nelson; his children, Freddie "Skeeter" Nelson, Melinda Nelson of Daddy's Girl, Tayler Nidiffer (Doug Combs) and Liz Nelson; and his grandchildren, Kaleb and Kylie Nelson.
