Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved David Paul Birkner of Elizabethton, Tennessee, born in Passaic, New Jersey, who passed away at the age of 82, on September 26, 2025. He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilma Birkner and Mike Birkner; his son David P. Birkner, Jr.; his sister Peggy Birkner; his grandparents, Jacob, Nellie Ternigan, Elizabeth and George Birkner; and his aunts and uncles, Gracie, Fritz Donatelli, Katherine and Fran Ternigan.
He is survived by: his wife Carol; his daughter Jill McKouar; and his siblings, Lynne Hamilton (Jack) and Dan Birkner (Alyce). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Tetrick Funeral Home (211 N Riverside Dr, Elizabethton, TN 37643). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A procession will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 at 10:15 AM at the Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton At (211 N Riverside Dr, Elizabethton, TN 37643). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Happy Valley Memorial Park (2708 Elizabethton Hwy, Johnson City, TN 37601-7107).
