He was predeceased by: his parents, Eddie Pennington and Mamie Clayton Alford. He is survived by: his wife Gloria Alford; his children, Eddie Alford (Cathy Crawford) and Anita "AJ" Alford (James Byrd); his grandchildren, Malissa Brumit (Curtis) and Sam Allie (Kalin); his great grandchildren, Meredith, Neil, Nolan and Myra; and his brother Dwight Alford (Lynn). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
He proudly worked for Ford Motor Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1989 after several contributions to the company including working on Mustang 1.
