He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Hicks and Rosie Odom Hicks; his brothers, Clarence Hicks and Henry McArthur Hicks; and his son-in-law Travis Scalf.
He is survived by: his siblings, Birdie Odom and Homer David Hicks; his children, Gary Hicks, Donna Reddy (Vinny), Lori Pierce and Rosella Scalf; his grandchildren, Robyn Reddy, Saghel Reddy, Koty Scalf (Jordan), Katlyn Scalf, Kyndal Scalf and Kymber Scalf; and his great grandchildren, Jaxon, Ellie, Mason and Walker.
