He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Nidiffer Oliver (Dot); his children, Rick Oliver, Steve Oliver (Georgina) and Karen Curtain of Swindon, England; his stepchildren, Joy Williams (Ken), Fran Holleman (Rick), Brad Oliver (Cheri) and Ginger Dugger (Steve) of East Tennessee; and his brother Melvin Oliver. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Before his Parkinson's diagnosis took so much from him, Gene was always up for a hike in the mountains as he loved the outdoors and fishing.
