He was predeceased by: his father John Wesley Simons; his former wife Elva May Simons; his daughter Candy Rosheen Phillips; and his son-in-law Travis Blevins. He is survived by: his wife Kay Annette Simons; his daughter Karen Blevins; his granddaughter Brandi Nichole Turner (James); his mother Billie McGraw; and his sisters, Connie Tullos (Larry) and Mildred Peterson.

In lieu of flowers, Wesley requested that donations be made to the Tri- Cities School of Preaching and Christian Development at 1162 Highway 91, Elizabethton, TN. 37643.
