James Eugene Nix Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Eugene Nix of Elizabethton, Tennessee, born in Temple, Georgia, who passed away on August 1, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Aldridge Nix and Hazel Nix (White); his stepmother Millie Nix; his siblings, Lawrence Nix Jr., Dr. W. Robert Nix and Mary Nix Hall; and his great-nephew Christopher Lee.

He is survived by: his wife Ruth Elizabeth Shepard Nix; his children, Brian Nix (Becky) and Sherry Nix Nakoff (Keith); his grandchildren, Caleb Nix (Simone), Nathan Nix (Melissa), Mihail Nakoff (Audrey), Joanna Nix-Walkup (Michael) and Slade Nakoff (Allie); his great grandchild Alexander James Nix (A. J.); his sister Joan Nix Sheppard; his sister-in-law Anne Nix; and his caregiver C. J. Lovell. He is also survived by his many nephews and nieces.
