We bid farewell to Jean L. Houghton of Elizabethton, Tennessee, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on November 8, 2025 at the age of 71. Jean touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her father Joseph Woodward; her daughter Julie Braswell; and her siblings, Janet Rigazio and Jack Woodward. She is survived by: her mother Joan Whitmore Woodward Greene of Syracuse; her husband Richard E. Houghton; her children, Richard E. Houghton Jr. (Kristy) of Elizabethton and Jennifer L. Houghton of Elizabethton; her grandchildren, Jacob, Justin, Jared, Katie, Tori, Jenna and Tegan; and her great grandchildren, Juiliette and Braizlee. She is also survived by her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 12th 2025 from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM at the Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services (101 E F St, Elizabethton, TN 37643). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, November 12th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 at 9:15 AM and at 10:00 AM.
