It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rodney L. Steger of Elizabethton, Tennessee, who passed away on March 16, 2023, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father John C. (D. Louise Steger); his stepmother Darlene Steger; his grandparents, Sam Jones, K. Ellen Jones, Lula Steger and John C. Steger Sr.; his brother-in-law Bobby Ledford; his parents-in-law, Mary Byrd and James Byrd; and his sister-in-law Mary Ledford.
He is survived by: his wife Yvonne; his son Christopher; his daughter-in-law Carie; his grandson C. D.; his siblings, Kaye Steger and Bryan Farran; his sister-in-law Emogene Metcalf; his nieces and nephews, Michael Ledford, Donna Metcalf, Darlene Ledford, Tony Metcalf (Susan), Rhonda Ledford, Tana Kettle and Terolyn Mitchell; his great-niece Elizabeth (Tristan Slagle); his great-nephews, Nathan, Anthony Metcalf, Cody (Kiki), Shane and Garrett Ledford; and his friends, Miss Della Sue, Miss Pat and Miss Tracy.
