With sadness, we share the passing of Shirley Von Cannon (Bluff City, Tennessee). Shirley, born on September 30, 1941 in Tangipahoa, Louisiana, passed away on September 19, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Vardaman Walker and Zoe Fussell Walker; her siblings, Wilson Walker of Hammond, LA and Joyce Walker Frazier; and her siblings-in-law, Charles Frazier of New Zion, LA and Betty Stringfield Walker of Denham Springs, LA..
She is survived by: her husband Charles Dean Von Cannon; her children, Laura Clippard (Steven) of Murfreesboro, TN and Robert Peets (Sheri) of Johnson City, TN; her stepchildren, Thomas Aaron Von Cannon (Teresa) of Clayton, NC, Deanna Kerr (Jim) of Johnson City, TN and Tammy Coomer (Michael) of Clayton, NC; her grandchildren, Rebecca Clippard, Elizabeth Clippard, Mikaela Peets Donegan, Jacob Peets, Emily Hale, Hope Adcock, Thomas Denver Von Cannon, Amanda Von Cannon, Drew Kerr, Katharine Coomer, Jack Coomer and Christina Coomer; her brother Jerry Dale Walker (Betty) of Denham Springs, LA; and her sister-in-law Jewell Walker of Hammond, LA. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home – Elizabethton. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 6:30 PM and on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 9:15 AM. A graveside service was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Happy Valley Memorial Park.
