She was predeceased by: her parents, Aaron Young and Eva Young; her husband Gene Sams; her son Stacy Sams; and her brother Ronnie Young.
She is survived by: her son Kevin Sams (Elaine) of Murfreesboro, TN; her grandchildren, Ashley Davis (Keaton) of Murfreesboro, TN, Patrick Sams (Abby) of Mt. Juliet, TN and Alex Sams of Murfreesboro, TN; her great grandchild Ryman Davis of Murfreesboro, TN; her friend Katrina Nidiffer; her caregiver Wanda Turner; and her siblings-in-law, Kathryn Young of Bristol, TN, Shirlene Sams of Augusta, SC, Elmer Sams (Frances) of Elizabethton, TN and B. J. Sams of Little Rock, AK. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
