He was predeceased by: his parents, Etta Sneyd Hyder and Guinn of Tennessee; his sister Patsy Holtsclaw; and his niece Jessica Clark. He is survived by: his siblings, Ford Hyder (Linda) of Oscoda, MI, Paul Dean Smith (Margaret) of Hampton, TN, Harold Smith (Darlene) of Roan Mountain, TN, Robin Clark of Tecumseh, MI, Leona Simerly of Elizabethton, TN and Sue Kelly of Johnson City, TN; his nieces, Nancy Tolley (Rick) of Roan Mountain, TN, Sonia Hyder (Josh) of Johnson City, TN and Rachel Tolley of Roan Mountain, TN; and his close friend Tim Chambers (Brenda). He is also survived by family; three dogs.
