He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Granville "Joe Dick" Schmidt and Geneva Anderson Schmidt; his siblings, John Thomas "Rip" Schmidt, William Cleo "Runt" Schmidt, Billy Joe "Bill" Schmidt, Sara Rita Schmidt Hankins and Eva Christine Schmidt Collister; and his granddaughter Kearsten Nicole Williams.
He is survived by: his family Christian; his wife Jackie Schmidt; his daughters, Tamikka Schmidt Hughes (Billy), Mandy Norfleet (Barak), Kniki Schmidt (Randall) and Cassie Davis (Gabe); his niece Kaitlyn Hastings (Dillon); his grandchildren, Maddox Black, Zach Harrison and Bella Brake; his great-nephew Sylus Cole Rutledge; and his siblings, Barbara Lou Bucciarelli (Joey) and Kenneth Raye Schmidt. He is also survived by family; and countless friends, coworkers, and fellow union brothers.
