She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Simmons and Cona Bell Vance Higgins; her husband Frank Higgins; her son Kevin Higgins; and her brothers, Walter "Buster" Simmons, Bill Simmons and Buddie Simmons.
She is survived by: her son Terry Higgins (Valerie Sparks Higgins) of Erwin; her granddaughter Peyton Higgins; and her siblings-in-law, Fred Horning (Stella) and Trish McKinney. She is also survived by neighbors and friends; several nieces and nephews.
