He was predeceased by: his parents, Warren Messer and Laura Warren Messer; his son Michael Messer; and his brother Ron Messer. He is survived by: his sister Sue Phillips of Jonesborough; his nieces, Margi Story (James) of Jonesborough, Mary Gilmore (Jay) of Jonesborough and Debbie Webb (Jay) of Gray; his friend JoAnn Roberson of Jonesborough; Ed Davis.
