It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Evelia Valdez of Erwin, Tennessee, who passed away on August 4, 2025, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Evelia may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Evelia leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Inocente Gonzalez and Dorotea Castillo Gonzalez; and her husband Juan Valdez. She is survived by: her children, Juan, Elvira, Rolando, Yolanda and Blanca Alicia; and her sister Virginia. She is also survived by twenty grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Tetrick Funeral Home (211 N Riverside Dr, Elizabethton, TN 37643). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church (510 W C St, Elizabethton, TN 37643).
