He was predeceased by: his parents, Thelma Gouge and Robert Gouge of Spivey; his wife Phyllis Higgins Gouge; his siblings, Jerry, Kenneth, Steve, Lonnie, Bobby Joe Gouge and Louise Edwards (Everett); and his grandson James Cody Gouge.
He is survived by: his children, Angela Gouge and James Russell Gouge (Kelly); his grandchildren, Jessica Cheney (Brandon), Ashley Dockery (Josh) and Andrew Gouge; his great grandchildren, Bradley Surratt, Aubrey Edwards, Emily Edwards, Kinsley Wilson, Ethan Dockery and Isaac Dockery; his sisters, Carol Stallard Price and Faye Hughes (Ross); and his former wives, Lola Pate and Jan Page. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, friends.
In lieu of flowers, Dale himself requested donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, http://www.st.jude.org, as he said often that if he had a million dollars, he would donate it all to St. Jude for the sick children.
