We announce the death of Jennie Sue Mathes of Erwin, Tennessee, who passed away on August 24, 2026, at the age of 77. Jennie will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Everette and Virgie Mae Rodgers Jones; her husband Harry Truman Mathes; and her niece Elizabeth Joan Mathes. She is survived by: her daughter Amanda Mathes Hylton (Jason); her granddaughters, Ariel Trinity Hylton of Erwin and Rajah Grace Hylton of Erwin; her siblings-in-law, Rex and Linda Mathes; her nephew David W. Mathes (Lisa); her niece Nancy Lynn Mathes; and her great-nephew Ian Hunter Mathes.
