It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jerry King (Erwin, Tennessee), who passed away on July 24, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Jerry King to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George King and Molly King (Smith); and his siblings, Tom King and Maria De La Garza. He is survived by: his sister Jeanette Santiago; his children, Denise Katzmeyer, Angela LaQue (Todd), Craig Platt (Michael) and Benjamin Wilde King (Trisha); his close friend Sylvia Bailey; his blue heeler Queenie; and also Mendy Harris (Nick). He is also survived by five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks what Jerry would have asked: that you practice gun safety, use common sense, and if you don't have any common sense then you shouldn't own a gun. And during the next full moon, be sure to let out a hearty wolf howl—just like he always did.
