With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Nannie Leona Foster of Erwin, Tennessee, who passed away on May 4, 2025 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, David Wesley Proffitt and Lucy Tipton Proffitt; her husband Reverend Vanas Foster; her son Dean Foster; her grandsons, David Foster and Gerald Foster; and her daughters-in-law, Verna, Madalyn and Kathy Foster.
She is survived by: her sons, David Pierson Foster, Sr. of Erwin and James Dale Foster (Tana) of Unicoi; her grandchildren, Robin Bowman (Tom), Tracy Foster, Diana Willis (Steve), John Foster, James Foster, II and Joe Foster (Natasha); her great grandchildren, Madison Willis, Hannah Bowman, Kayla Bowman, Kyndall Foster, Braden Hyder and Brenden Hyder; her great great grandchild Leona Foster; and her sister-in-law Polly Proffitt of Jonesborough. She is also survived by three step grandchildren; five step great grandsons; numerous nieces and nephews.
