He was predeceased by: his parents, Isabell Rankin and David H. Leggitt; his stepparents, Nancy C. Leggitt and Robert Rankin; his daughter Tonia Renee Leggitt Brundage; his siblings, Julie L. Haroon, Linda Sue Leggitt and Daniel E. Leggitt; and his grandparents, Hershel, Opal Leggitt, John and Helen Hepworth.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Cook Leggitt; his children, David Leggitt Jr. (Miranda) and Peggy Reynolds (Toby); his grandchildren, Steven Leggitt, Darla Leggitt, Laci Leggitt, Nova Leggitt, Ranesmae Reynolds, Alanna Leggitt, Kamyiah Leggitt, Tarence Leggitt and Robert Leggitt; his great grandchildren, Emma Lucille Leggitt, Anna Leggitt, Jaxin Leggitt, Evelyn Brewer and Jonah Willis; his sister Sharon J. Petterson (Jerry Rankin); his brothers-in-law, Willard Cook Jr. (Eileen) and Eddie Travis Cook (Candy); and his pet Sweetie. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Moore-Cortner Funeral Home (300 1st Ave NW, Winchester, TN 37398). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
